Japanese Unit 4 Lesson 8

minna ga kiiroi booshi o kabutte imasu: Everyone is wearing yellow hats.
minna ga hashitte imasu: Everyone is running.
minna ga suwatte imasu: Everyone is sitting.
minna ga odotte imasu: Everyone is dancing.

dareka ga ki no ushiro ni imasu: Someone is behind the tree.
dareka ga otokonohito no ushiro ni imasu: Someone is behind the man.
dareka ga shashin o totte imasu: Someone is taking a picture.
dareka ga kiiroi fuku o kite imasu: Someone is wearing yellow clothes.

minna ga kiiroi booshi o kabutte imasu: Everyone is wearing yellow hats.
daremo kiiroi booshi o kabutte imasen: No one is wearing yellow hats.
dareka ga neko o sawatte imasu: Someone is holding the cat.
daremo neko o sawatte imasen: No one is holding the cat.

minna ga shiroi fuku o kite imasu: Everyone is wearing white clothes.
daremo shiroi fuku o kite imasen: No one is wearing white clothes.
dareka ga shiroi fuku o kite ite, hokano dareka ga shiroi fuku o kite imasen: Someone is wearing white clothes, somone else is not wearing white clothes.
kaubooi wa shiroi fuku o kite imasu: The cowboy is wearing white clothes.

minna ga mizu ni tobikonde imasu: Everyone is jumping into the water.
sannin no otokonoko no uchi daremo mizu ni tobikonde imasen: The three boys ___? are not jumping into the awter.
dareka ga mizu ni tobikonde imasu. moo hitori wa mizu ni tobikonde imasen: Someone is jumping into the water. Someone else is not jumping into the water.
dareka ga mizu no naka de oyoide imasu: Someone is swimming in the water.

dareka ga booru o kette imasu: Someone is kicking the ball.
daremo booru o kette imasen: Someone is not kicking the ball.
hikooki no naka ni dareka imasu ka. iie, hikooki no naka ni wa daremo imasen: Is somone in the plane? No, no one is in the plane.
hikooki no naka ni dareka imasu ka. hai, hikooki no naka ni wa otokonoko ga imasu: Is someone in the plane? Yes, a boy is in the plane.

dareka ga booru o kette imasu ka. hai, otokonoko ga kette imasu:
Is someone kicking the ball? Yes, the boy is kicking it.
dareka ga booru o kette imasu ka. iie, daremo kette imasen: Is someone kicking the ball? No, no one is kicking it.
daremo hikooki no naka ni imasen: No one is in the plane.
hikooki no naka ni dareka ga imasu: Someone is in the plane.

aoi fuku o kite iru otokonohito wa nanika o hakonde imasu: The man wearing the blue clothes something..........?
aoi fuku o kite iru otokonohito wa nanimo hakonde imasen: The man with the blue shirt has nothing......... WHAT IS HAKONDE
nanika o yubisashite imasu: Pointing at something
nanimo yubisashite imasen: Not pointing at something

dareka ga uma ni notte imasu: Someone is riding the horse.
daremo uma ni notte imasen: No one is riding the horse.
sara no ue ni nanika ga arimasu: Something is on the plate.
sara no ue ni nanimo arimasen: Nothing is on the plate.

teeburu no ui ni nanika ga arimasu: Something is on the table.
dono teeburu no ue nimo nanimo arimasen: Nothing is on these tables.
tento no naka de dareka ga yoko ni natte imasu: Someone is laying in the tent.
tento no naka ni daremo imasen: No one is in the tent.

Japanese Unit 3 Lesson 8

This was hard for me. There are a lot of unknowns/blank spots.

isha: doctor
kangofu: nurse
seebishi: mechanic (seibiko?)
gakusee: student (gakusei)

keesatsukan: policeman
haisha: dentist
daiku: carpenter
kagakusha: scientist

hisho: secretary
kokku: cook
kyooshi: teacher
ueetaa: waiter

hazukashigatte imasu: embarrassed
itagatte imasu: in pain
kowagatte imasu: afraid
byooki desu: sick

otokonohito wa atsuku arimasen: The man is not hot.
otokonohito wa samuku arimasen: The man is not cold.
otokonohito wa kowagatte imasu: The man is afraid.
otokonohito wa isha desu: The man is a doctor.

otokonohito wa musuko o hokori ni omotte imasu: The man is proud of his son.
otokonohito wa kuruma o hokori ni omotte imasu: The man is proud of his car.
otokonohito wa yasete imasu: The man is thin.
otokonohito wa futotte imasu: The man is fat.

ginkoo: bank
keesatsusho: police station
kono otokonohito kanemochi desu: This man is a rich man.
kono otokonohito wa ginkoo de okane o uketotte imasu: This man..? (okane = money, ginkoo = bank)

kare wa itagatte imasu: He is in pain.
kare wa ryoori o shite imasu: He is cooking.
konojo wa ryoori o shite imasu: She is cooking.
kare wa hazukashigatte imasu: He is embarrased.

kangofu wa otokonohito no kambyoo o shite imasu: The nurse is treating the man?
isha wa otokonohito no kambyoo o shite imasu: The doctor is treating the man?
seebishi wa kuruma o shuuri shite imasu: The mechanic is servicing the car?
haisha wa otokonohito no ha o chiryoo shite imasu: The dentist is treating the man's teeth.

pan'yasan wa pan o yaite imasu: The baker is ___ the bread.
hisho wa taipuraitaa o utte imasu: The secretary is using the typewriter.
kyooshi wa seeto tachi ni oshiete imasu: The teacher is teaching the group of pupils.
seeto tachi wa hon o yonde imasu: The group of pupils is reading a book. (more literal here, could just say 'The students are reading books.')

Ugh... hopefully I get some clarity on these things later on
