Japanese Unit 8 Lesson 3

[Note: 'kore' vs 'kono'. Kore stands on its own. Kono must be used with a noun right after. ]

kore wa seehookee (seihoukei) desu:
This is a square.
kore wa seehookee no yoo (you) desu ga, seehookee dewa arimasen: This is like a square, but isn't a square.
kore wa sankakkee (sankakukei) desu: This is a triangle.
kore wa sankakkee no yoo desu ga, sankakke dewa arimasen: This is like a triangle, but isn't a triangle.

kono hito tachi wa onnanohito desu: These people are women.
kono hito tachi wa onnanohito no yoo desu ga, onnanohito dewa (deha) arimasen. manekin desu: These peopl eare like women, but are not women. They're mannequins.
kono hito tachi wa uchuuhikooshi desu: These people are astronauts.
kono hito tachi wa uchuuhikooshi no yoo desu ga, uchuuhikooshi dewa arimasen: These people are like astronauts, but they are not astronauts.

korera no katachi wa minna en desu: These shapes are all circles.
korera no katachi wa minna sankakkee desu: These shapes are all triangles.
korera no katachi no uchi no mittsu ga en de, hitotsu ga sankakkee desu: Out of these shapes three are circles, one is a triangle.
korera no katachi no uchi no futatsu ga aka de, futatsu ga ao desu: Out of these shapes two are red and two are blue.

onnanohito wa booto ni norikonde imasu: The woman is boarding the boat.
otokonohito wa mizu kara dete iru tokoro desu: The man is emerging from the water.
otokonohito wa mizu kara deta tokoro desu: The man emerged from the water.
otokonohito wa mizu kara deru tokoro desu: The man will emerge from the water.

uma wa hito o hakobimasu ga, kono uma wa daremo hakonde imasen: Horses carry people but this horse isn't pulling anyone.
kono uma wa dareka o hakonde imasu: This horse is carrying someone.
hikooki wa tobimasu ga, kono hikooki wa tonde imasen: Planes fly but this plane isn't flying.
hikooki wa tobimasu. kono hikooki mo tonde imasu: Planes fly and this plane is flying.

shashin o toru tame ni kamera o tsukatte imasu: In order to take a picture a camera can be used.
kaku tami ni pen o tsukatte imasu: In order to write a pen can be used.
mukoogawa e iku tami ni booto o tsukatte imasu: In order to get to the other side a boat can be used.

kaubooi wa koushi o tsukamaeru tami ni roopu o tsukatte imasu: The cowboy uses a rope in order to catch the bull calf.

This was hard because there are some tenses here I am confused about, also confused about commands and if they are switching over to the imperative form before my eyes or not.

otokonohito wa hidariashi de kette imasu: The man is kicking with his left leg.

otokonohito no hidarite wa kyandii de ippai desu: The man's left hand is full of candy.
otokonohito no migite wa kyandii de ippai desu: The man's right hand is full of candy.
hidari no koppu niwa gyuunyuu ga ippai haitte imasu: The left cup is full of milk.
