Japanese Unit 5 Lesson 1

muttsu: Six (things?)
hitotsu: One thing
nijuu: Twenty
kyuu: Nine

futatsu: Two things
itsutsu: Five things
juuichi: Eleven
hachi: Eight

mittsu: Three things
yottsu: Four things
nana: Seven
juu: Ten

ichi tasu ichi wa ni.: one plus one is two.
ichi tasu ni wa san.: one plus two is three.
ichi tasu san wa yon: one plus three is four.
ichi tasu yon wa go: one plus four is five.

san tasu yon wa nana: three plus four is seven.
san tasu go wa hachi: three plus five is eight.
roku hiku ni wa yon: six minus two is four.
roku hiku yon wa ni: six minus four is two.

roku tasu go wa juuichi:
six plus five is eleven.
roku tasu roku wa juuni: six plus six is twelve.
yon tasu san wa nana: four plus three is seven.
yon tasu go wa kyuu: four plus five is nine.

hachi hiku ni wa roku: eight minus two is six.
hachi hiku yon wa yon: eight minus four is four.
nana hiku san wa yon: seven mins three is four.
nana hiku go wa ni: seven minus five is two.

juuni hiku go wa nana: twelve minus five is seven.
juuni hiku roku wa roku: twelve minus six is six.
juuni hiku nana wa go: twelve minus seven is five.
juuni hiku hachi wa yon: twelve minus eight is four.

juuni waru ni wa roku: twelv divided by two is six.
ni kakeru roku wa juuni: two times six is twelve.
roku waru san wa ni: six divided by three is two.
ni kakero hachi wa juuroku: two times eight is sixteen.

juu waru go wa ni: ten divided by five is two.
juugo waru go wa san: fifteen divided by five is three.
nijuu waru go wa yon: twenty dividedby five is four.
yon kakeru go wa nijuu: four times five is twenty.


Since Espanol was battered into me as a child, I keep screwing up and saying the Spanish words for these numbers... funny... I'm not even getting them confused with English. Sighh!!
