Japanese Unit 5 Lesson 7

This chapter was the hardest so far as pronunciation goes.

hana wa shokubutsu no isshu desu: The flower is a variety of plant.
shibafu wa shokubutsu no isshu desu: The grass is a variety of plant.
ki wa shokubutsu no isshu desu: The trees are a variety of plant.
hikui ki to hana wa shokubutsu no isshu desu: The short trees (shrubs?) and flowers are varieties of plant.

nishurui no hana: Two types of flowers.
isshurui no hana: One type of flower
nanshurika no kudamono: (Many types?) of fruit.
isshurui no kudamono: One type of fruit.

budoo wa kudamono no isshu desu: Grapes are a type of fruit.
banana wa kudamono no isshu desu: Bananas are a type of fruit.
ringo wa kudamono no isshu desu: Apples are a type of fruit.
nashi wa kudamono no isshu desu: Pears are a type of fruit.

inu wa doobutsu no isshu desu: The dog is a type of animal.
neko wa doobutsu no isshu desu: The cat is a type of animal.
hitsuji wa doobutsu no isshu desu: The sheep are a type of animal.
ahiru wa doobutsu no isshu desu: The ducks are a type of animal.

nishurui no ahiru: Two types of ducks.
isshurui no ahiru: One type of duck.
nishurui no inu: Two types of dogs.
isshurui no inu: One type of dog.

niku wa tabemono no isshu desu: Meat is a type of food.
kudamono wa tabemono no isshu desu: Fruit is a type of food.
pan wa tabemono no isshu desu: Bread is a type of food.
aisukuriimu wa tabemono no isshu desu: Ice cream is a type of food.

budoo wa tabemono desu: Grapes are food.
banana wa tabemono desu: Bananas are food.
ringo wa tabemono desu: Apples are food.
nashi wa tabemono desu: Pears are food.

nishurui no doobutsu: Two types of animal.
isshurui no doobutsu: One type of animal.
isshurui no shokubutsu: One type of plant.
nanshuruika no shokubutsu: (Many types?) of plant.

inu wa doobutsu desu: The dog is an animal.
hana wa shokubutsu desu: The flowers are plants.
uma to ushi wa doobutsu desu: The horse and the cow are animals.
ahiru wa doobutsu desu: The ducks are animals.

iroiro na shurui no tabemono: Various types of food.
iroiro no shurui no shokubutsu: Various types of plant.
shokubutsu to doobutsu: Plant and animal.
nishurui no doobutsu: Two types of animal.

Not doin' too bad... but the phrase "iroiro na shurui" is both confusing and hard to pronounce. Here I am practicing. Oy!!!!
